A small win, a bigger push

Quick September note from the desk: I’ve had the developmental edit back for Acapulco Gold and I’m deep in the rewrite. The big job now is keeping the comic-thriller voice sharp while pushing the story faster toward Mexico. Paul, Alison, and Hank each get a cleaner lane—and more chaos.

Also: a surreal blip on the charts. A short story of mine climbed to #89 in the UK Kindle Single Author Short Stories category—and for a short spell sat above Dean Koontz. I took a screenshot, obviously.

Next up: tightening Part One, then adding two punchy set-pieces in Part Two to replace stripped words and raise stakes.
